THE CALL
We are here to serve, so when you call our office we will respond to your call.
If you do not receive immediate help from a sales representative, it is
because our representatives are assisting current customers. But we will
return your call within one to two business hours; and e-mails within one
business day.
We will schedule an appointment, at your convenience, usually within one to
two business days, but always within a week. Upon acceptance of a proposal,
a project can be scheduled generally within two weeks to one month, or, at
some predetermined date agreed upon in the contract.
THE ESTIMATE
Since we value your time, as our own, we will show up at the appropriate scheduled
time.
Our representative will determine what your specific needs are, and tailor
a proposal which will fit those needs. Generally the appointment will require
30 minutes to one hour at the property.
Once the information is collected, it will be taken back to our office. The
representative will have time to reflect on all conditions of the project and
prepare a formal proposal. It will be faxed, mailed, or phone quoted and then
mailed.
You will receive a detailed outline of the process, the quantity and quality
of the products, a time frame of completion, and our commitment to serve.
Generally, a proposal requires two to three hours to complete. There are no
direct charges to a customer for a proposal.
THE SERVICE
We will arrange for a courtesy phone call, one day prior to the start date.
Once we start the project, we are fast and efficient, with one priority,
to serve the customer. There will always be an employee on the job who can
answer any questions. Our employees enjoy what they do and wish to make it
a pleasant experience for the customer as well.
Upon completion you will have the opportunity to inspect the work and make
sure it meets your expectations. After all, we don't get paid until the your
satisfied.
Our customers get what they pay for; and we stand behind our work.

WHY YOU HIRE A
LISCENCED CONTRACTOR
|
|
| |
- Licensed contractors are bonded and insured.
- Licensed contractors carry insurance to cover their employees injuries sustained on a job.
- A property owner can file a complaint with the State of Arizona’s
Registrar of Contractors. Disciplinary action can be taken against the contractor if they fail to perform
corrective measures.
- Homeowners may have access, up to $30,000, to the Residential Contractor’s
Recovery Fund, if a contractor is unable to correct the problem.
- Licensed contractors are responsible in supporting the local
community they work, and live in, by paying their income and
sales taxes, as required by federal, state, and local governments.
There is a checklist available, for hiring a contractor, from
the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Click on the link below,

COATING FUNCTION
The primary function of a paint or roof coating is to protect a subsurface
from major replacement cost. Here in the Southwest, coatings degrade
primarily through exposure to sunlight, thus, making it necessary
for owners to recoat their properties at extended intervals. Part
of a contractor's responsibility is to evaluate what the property
owners' needs are, and to determine what is the most cost effective
method to meeting those needs based on the owner's short term or
long term plans.

|
| |
|
|
|
| |
COATING CHARACTERISTICS
A coating has characteristics similar to a rubber band. It will stretch,
up to a certain point before it begins to tear (elasticity), it will
only expand and contract so many times (cycles). And the thicker
it is, the stronger it will be.
Sunlight affects coating in two ways. Continual bombardment of ultraviolet
light will destroy the surface of any coating. For this reason, the thickness
of the coating is important to its long term integrity. Secondly, light
along with color of the paint, elevate the surface temperatures and cause
expansion in the coating, which will affect its own molecular bond, and,
its adhesion to the subsurface.
A coating's ability to 'breathe' is also important. Since it is almost
impossible for most paintable surfaces to be completely waterproof, any
moisture that penetrates a coating, must be able to escape through evaporation.
This is a common cause of blisters in a roof coating, or the rotting
of painted wood.

COATING LONGEVITY
The life of a coating is based on its thickness and ability to withstand
sunlight. Since paint oxidizes when exposed to ultraviolet light,
the coating thickness becomes thinner, over time, resulting in a
susceptibility to failure. Generally, the more coating applied ,
the longer the lifespan. It is important for a contractor to specify,
in the contract, how much material will be applied. This allows the
owner to compare 'apples to apples,' when considering the project,
and determine the length of interval between recoats.
As an example, the typical cost of materials is twenty-five percent of
the total contract price for an exterior painting project. A twelve percent
difference between competing bids, could be the difference between using
forty gallons verses twenty gallons.

WATERPROOFING
A common sight after a long rain storm is saturated brick and adobe walls.
As the sun hits the walls the moisture turns into vapor at the surface,
thus, drawing more moisture and minerals to the surface. The white
residue are the salts left by the process of Efflorescence (see link
on this page). The wall will slowly degrade because of the loss of
minerals and the swelling and contracting of the wall surface.
The procedure for water repellency requires the wall to be saturated,
in one application only. Don't be sold short on this product! A typical
gallon of quality water repellant is the same price as a gallon of quality
exterior paint, but must be applied at three to four times the rate.
Make sure the contractors bidding on job specify, in their contract,
the amount
of material to be used.

|
|
| |
|
|
|
| |
ELASTOMERICS
Elastomerics are considerably more elastic than conventional coatings.
They are most effective where temperature extremes exist and where
there is significant cracks and wall movement. Price per gallon,
they are equal in price with acrylic paints. However, in order for
it to function properly, it must be applied at four times the rate
of conventional house paint. This, of course, substantially increases
the cost of material and labor. Make sure the contractors bidding
on the job specify, in their contract, the amount of material to
be used.
It is very important that walls and roofs are properly prepared prior
to application. All roofs must be thoroughly cleaned, and most walls
must be sealed before application of this product. It may not be the
appropriate material in some circumstances. An experienced contractor
will be able to determine which product best suits a customer's needs,
and how to avoid problems which could occur in the future.

PROTECTING EXTERIOR
WOOD
Dry wood is similar to a sponge. If there is a source of water, it will
soak up the water until it becomes saturated. If you can prevent the
wood from soaking up the water you will prevent it from rotting. This
is accomplished by saturating the wood with a preservative that will
repel water. Different from painting wood , applying a preservative requires
more material, and is applied in one continuous coat, to achieve proper
protection. Make sure the contractor bidding on the project knows the
proper method for preparing the wood and the technique for applying the
preservative.
